Volaris Baggage Policy and Fees

Volaris offers flexible fares for carry-on luggage. For travelers packing light, the Vuela Basic fare is the most cost-effective, including one standard cabin bag on domestic flights. Those needing more carry-on luggage can choose the Vuela Plus fare.

Volaris also provides a generous checked baggage allowance, with a standard allowance of one bag weighing up to 55 pounds (25 kg), which is 5 pounds more than the average airline.

Lap Infant Carry-On Policy

• Volaris offers a Baby Combo package that allows you to bring a diaper bag on board weighing up to 22 pounds (10 kg) with dimensions of up to 9.8 x 15.7 x 15.7 inches (25 x 40 x 40 cm).

Stroller Check Policy

• With the Baby Combo package, passengers receive priority boarding and can check a car seat and a collapsible stroller, which can be brought up to the aircraft doors.

Volaris Checked Baggage Allowance

Individually checked bags must not exceed the maximum linear dimensions of 62 inches (158 cm), including handles and wheels, or weigh more than 55 pounds (25 kg).

Not sure what “maximum linear dimensions” means? It is the total of the length, width, and depth of a piece of luggage. For instance, a suitcase that is 26 inches long, 20 inches tall, and 16 inches deep has linear dimensions of 62 inches, which is the maximum for many airlines.

Additional Baggage Fees

Additional checked luggage can measure up to 62 inches (158 cm), including handles and wheels, and weigh up to 55 pounds (25 kg). Each passenger can check up to 5 bags.

• Plus: Includes 1 additional checked bag up to 55 pounds (25 kg) (77 pounds or 35 kg for INVEX and INVEX 2.0 cardholders).

Volaris allows passengers to prepay for luggage online. To prepay, click the "My Trips" tab on the Volaris website, log in to your booking, and add the number of bags you wish to purchase.
